- JoeHExplorer IIII also have a 50 amp Hughes autoformer and use it on 30 amps frequently
- ArchHoaglandExplorerSpeaking of Autoformers...what is a ballpark price for one, installed?

i dont use hookups often, and haven't had 50amp hookup in the past 4yrs
but i have never had low voltage on 50amp, on the occasions i used it
I think your mistaken here; most rv parks have 50amp outlet and a 30amp one. the power supply comes from the same source so if u meter each part of the 50 amp out and the one from the 30 amp they should(will) have the identical voltage supply - MrWizardModeratoryes it would help

yes you can
you are still only one leg of the 50amp
still only have 30amp service, a solid 30amp,
and you do NOT need to use the autoFormer when using a 30amp rv on a 50amp service
however if its hardwired, just use a 50 male to 30amp female, it won't hurt any thing
Just because you are using 50 amp service for a 30 amp rv does not mean that the full 120 volts are there. I always test both plugs (30 & 50) to see if either has more voltage and rarely find a difference. So if the voltage is low on the 50 amp circuit it would help to have an autoformer. - Yes, either autoformer can be used on either service and supply either RV.
Although due caution using a 30 amp anything between a 50a supply and 50a RV. - MrWizardModeratoryes you can

Anybody no if you can run a 50 amp power former on a 30 amp service or do you need one for each service
let me give you the easiest answer possible... I do it, about half the summer and 2/3 the winter normally, I do it, ZERO problems.
