I am thinking of purchasing a new Leisure Travel Van on a Mercedes Sprinter 3500 Chassis. Does anyone have any experience with an automatic leveling system on this chassis? It comes with an optional automatic stabilizing system, but this doesn't level the unit. Any information you have on this subject would be appreciated!

ours is the freedom serenity II and I asked the factory if it was possible to put them on ,yes but it was $2000. that was in 2008. we did not do it and ,just use the rv as is kind of eye sight level have not had a problem.

IMHO: A Class C 25' or less simply does not need auto levelers. Spend $30 and buy a set of yellow Leggo blocks and a couple of bubble levels to place at the rear corner of your coach. I have yet to ever need to use more than two per wheel. Mosts CG sites require no leveling whatsoever. Give it a try and you might find that you were searching for a solution for which there was no known problem {The government does this a lot}. :BIf you change your mind and just "Have" to have levelers installed you will still be using the Leggo's under your new $4,000 levelers but can kiss several hundred pounds of payload (along with your money), good bye.Most auto leveling systems besides being heavy and expensive are about as problematic as slides... sooner or later they will give you trouble.As always.... Opinions and YMMV.:C

Not needed. Significantly reduces your payload capacity. A torpedo level & two "Lego" / Lynx block sets from Wally World will set you back $60; weigh nothing; take up little space. 98% of the time you need only about 1/2 of a set. The extra set is used about 1% of the time ...

The lego blocks work spectacularly well for us.

HWH levelers for a Sprinter most certainly do not weigh 400+ lbs. Closer to two than four.

We take along a set of tri-level blocks. It only takes an extra 1 to 2 minutes to take them out of the storage compartment, lay them down on the ground, and then drive up on them. These do not cost very much at all, but more importantly, will never break down. One cannot say that about a leveling system. Also, one does not need to get wet to deploy them when it is raining. If it is raining, you can wear a raincoat, or just wait until the rain stops. Just like when you do the hookups when it is raining.

That being said, I will also say that we only use them in about 25% of the campsites we visit (always state parks). If we did commercial campsite, we would probably need them even less.
