For the photo junkets I find myself doing on weekends, I much prefer the van to hitching up the Casita. When the wife joins me that changes.. I have been considering swapping the AWD transfer case for a hi/lo range case from a 4wd S10. They are pretty close to direct swap. V8 also swaps in pretty easily but for what I'm doing this one is the perfect minimalist setup. It gets me into some fun places and I have all I need for a few nights of comfortable sleep. Fortunately the nights are pretty cool in the desert SW and I seldom even need a fan to be comfy. This wouldn't have worked so well when I lived in Houston.
