I installed the 'Awning Lock' (http://awninglock.com/) on a previous coach after having the awning unfurl while on the road! The roller was still tight to the rig, but it unrolled and the awning material ripped and flapped. After that incident, I installed the awning lock (along with new fabric) and had no further problems for several years of travel. I purchased and installed one on my current rig when I got it and I am happy with the added security for the awning. It was easy to install and does provide additional peace-of-mind.
