I have done that in a pinch, very gently and in a fairly straight line for a short distance.....10 ft or so. If I had been on a downhill lie the surge brake could have been a problem but on level ground not so much. Still, best to avoid that circumstance as much as possible.
The original post not real accurate as wagons (at least the ones I remember) had the tow bar attached to the front wheel axle whereas with a toad the front wheels are free to turn independently of the tow bar.
