I have been in a situation where I've had to back up two different times and have negotiated it without a problem. Both were on level ground and both about 10 feet. I just left the bus in neutral, had my bride sit in the bus seat and called her on the phone. I then got in the toad , cranked it up, put it in reverse and pulled the bus back as far as I needed. When we were there I asked her to put on the bus brake, reconfigured the toad and we were on our way again.
It is much simpler to PULL the MH back than to try to back up. People around us just waited until we got out of our bind and then we all went on our merry way. My theory is do not back up the toad, but pull the MH back or best, unhook.
I know we all try our best to not get into a situation to have to back up but when it happens I prefer to PULL not PUSH. Happy travels
