Just saw the resultsof a bad motorhome accident south os Stephenville, TX on hwy 281. A very nicely painted older Prevost or bus conversion had gone off the highway and hit a very large tree on th e passenger side, causing a large limb, maybe 15 inches ormore in diameter to come off th e treeand through the roof about four feet behind the driver's side. No ambulances were on the scene, but firetruck and police were. I would be surprised if this is not a fatality accident from the looks of the passenger side. It was on a curve and I did not get any pics. Let's be careful out there, folks.

MCI are commercial buses used by Greyhound. Not as good as Prevost, but still thanks to metal construction with DOT ratings we can see it was a motorhome and I think driver had good chances to walk from it.

MCI made by motorcoach industries great equipment i serviced 135 very reliable and cheaper to maintain than PREVOST. This is or was an MC1 9 series . GREYHOUND STILL USE MCI IN THEIR FLEET.

Yes, That is a MC-9 made by Motor Coach Industries .. I used to do body repairs on those and they are a tough bus.. Stainless steel body panels. I remember fixing one that hit a deer on the Pa. Turnpike going about 70.. Blood and guts everywhere but only the outer panel was damaged.. Inner supports were fine... In order to do the damage in this pic it must have been a very hard hit...

Dana Taylor Very sad. I wish drivers of large rvs like this had to have special licenses and training to drive them. Same with trucks with living quarter horse trailers. They are so big and difficult to handle.

Surely some people don't have a clue. They aren't any more dangerous than some who do have a license to drive a car.

Sheesh. He probably only had 10s of thousands of miles diving one. How inexperienced. These types of accidents involving MHs are so rare.

RV accidents are like airplane accidents and mass shootings. They all happen very rarely but they make good news stories to scare people into thinking that one more law can prevent bad things from occasionally happening.

Looks like deferred maintenance contributed to this wreck. A bus is much tougher than a class A but you still have to do regular maintenance.

Indeed it was - that was a big tree.

Very sad, but as others have pointed out also very rare. The spectacle of such a huge vehicle torn up coupled with death and injury makes for great news fodder unfortunately.

You can look at it from positive side as well.
Would that be any car, even Mercedes we would read about 2 fatalities.
