Base Idle, Fast Idle, Non Idle - Best Practices Diesel

Many truck drivers do not own the truck, they do not pay the fuel bill and in yhe old days a mechanical diesel could idle all night long and the only thing that happened was the amount of fuel used. The new computer diesels should not be idled more than about 3 minutes after being driven. If for some reason they must be idled longer then it should be at fast idle as stated here numerous times.if folks read their owners manual this discussion would probably not be taking place.
