I believe much of the high idle thinking is left over from the olden days of diesel. these new computer controlled engine are smarter than many who operate them.

The manual says to not idle for long periods of time, but doesn't offer any guidance on what that means. The computer doesn't care and doesn't control this. It will let us slow idle until we run out of fuel.
What exactly do you think we are trying to fix?
my whole ECM is computer controlled. I have no direct linkage to the engine, With Caps system every thing the engine does is computer controlled.
