A "Pass through" is any 120 VAC outlet that can be powered by the inverter (i.e. you have 120 VAC even without shore power or generator).
Galley, microwave and TV are common choices.
The "Pass through" is when there is an external source of 120 VAC (shore power or generator) the inverter does not "invert" which takes power from the batteries, Instead, it just "passes through" that 120 VAC and also automatically start charging the batteries.
Reading your inverter/charger's owners manual will help.
