Battery/ charging question

I have a 1999 Damon Ultrasport and I'm out on my first shakedown run. The unit came with 2 six volt golf cart batteries in series. What I am seeing is if I'm plugged into 50A land line and I have all the 12v lights on I'm getting a low score warning on my fridge. If I turn all the 12v stuff of there's no warning on the fridge. When I check my house voltage meter it shows 12,3v. Are the house batteries getting week or should my electrical transfer box be making enough 12v to run everything? What is the reccomendation for hours batteries? 2 more 6v golf cart or 2 heavy duty 12v? Sorry lots of questions here but this is my first MH and fist time out in It Thanks, Lee

  • Everything on the a.c. Side seems ok ac units are working extra. I don't have a house battery disconnect but I could manually unhook the cable to the house batteries. What should I see on the house voltage meter? Also if I turn on the generator I get 12.3 but if I start the engine I get a 13.3 reading?
  • 12.3 is a low battery, If you're plugged in to shore power your converter should supply 12 volt power and charge the batteries. Sounds like that's not working. You should be seeing in excess of 13 volts if the converter is working and attempting to charge the batteries. Other possibility is you have a battery or 2 with a shorted cell. Make sure all breakers are on so converter is getting 120 volts AC power. If you have a battery disconnect turn off the house batteries and see if your meter shows a higher voltage
