Thanks for the feedback. I hear you and agree about the brand not being the only deciding factor. However, brands tend to have a common theme of quality or lack there of in all products. I unfortunately don't have the luxury of travelling endlessly to test models as I am in a part of the country that doesn't have a good mix of representative models to test out. I am trying to narrow it down to two or three from feedback here so I can physically fly and test them out.
Didn't know about the RVCG so I will pick it up thanks. I don't plan on full time or even half a year at the moment, will be more like a 2-4 week run a few times a year.
I think I am narrowed to a 2013/14 Newmar or Entegra entry level 42'. Most from what I have seen so far come standard with min a 450 cummins or 425 CAT. should be adequate? I really am more concerned about it having at least a 2 stage engine brake.

You won't find any CAT engines in 2013/2014 coaches since CAT got out of the OTR engine business well before those years. The 450 HP Cummins ISL is what you will find in those rigs.
