I hear you. I wouldn't be buying an RV to impress others, not my style. We want to use it to travel and put a lot of miles on. We also have four daughters three out of the house but they will still probably get picked up by their pesky parents to go somewhere in the RV. Chances are there would be us and another couple at most times in the coach so want creature comforts, a great ride and space.
As for obsolete manufacturers, I dont fear that for good quality units. There are many reasons why a company goes belly up and it usually comes down to cash flow and an unpleasant recession. Take Chrysler and GM for instance, would have no problem driving a 68 Firebird!
