Best campground for a giant MH in Banff

This is really great information. Thanks to everyone who posted.

I booked mine in January for July and had to check for cancellations then mut after a few times logging on got a site. Enough room. parking is parallel to the internal roads in trailer court.

Tunnel Mt 2 has been fine for our 45' coach several times and Spring Creek in Canmore has large sites, no problem there except a long way from Jasper.

Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court is the best for larger TT's and MH's. Be sure to book you site as early in the year as possible. That very large RV park is packed full on weekends.

We tried to get in once with a 32 foot TT and there was no spots available. But there were many other smaller spots. Many of them are 2 sites, end to end with a common pole for hookups but separate sewer connections.

What we did was reserved 2 spots beside each other that were designated for smaller RV's and occupied them both with one bigger one. It worked, but they don't want you to do that. We tried on one reservation with the same person but they said no. So 2 of us logged on the the reservation system at the same time from separate computers and each reserved one site at the same time under different names and credit cards.
Only did that once as we were unable to locate any other place to stay.
But if you get stuck it might be an idea.

The reservation website is a bit confusing to get into and navigate but if you can figure it out and get in there, there is a map you can click on that shows the entire layout, and further shows each site and the sizes etc. And you can see on the map which are single and which are double sites.

Do avoid booking close to the washrooms, as foot traffic reduces your privacy.

By far our favorite is Tunnel Mountain over any other campgrounds in the area. It's really nice there.

they didn’t add water or sewer. New pavement, grass and lots of trees planted.

I just checked the campground map, our site in the pictures was Tunnel Mtn. Village ll, site 70, it was mid September, 2012.

the best place to get that view right from your camper window is the A section of tunnel mountain village 2.

Canyon rv resort in radium bc is a beautiful place to stop in that part of the country. About 1.5hours from Banff.

In jasper, I think the largest sites are the full hook up ones in the whistlers campground. I love that campground. There is a koa in Hinton that might have larger accommodations, but it is about a 45minute drive or more from any of the jasper attractions. If you are okay with boondocking the snaring river overflow site is a huge open parking lot with some great mountain views.

For anything right in the national parks you must reserve through the parks Canada reservation system. Popular campgrounds fill fast for popular dates. Booking for the year opens sometime in January, there will be a notice on the site saying which day for which park. If you are going on a weekend in July I recommend booking Immediately after the booking system opens for the year. I use google earth combined with the pics parks Canada gives to compare stalls for size etc. One park even you could even go through on google street view, I don’t remember which.

I camp in these parks 10-20nights a year, if you need anymore info please ask.
