We want to assume that electronic circuit in Trik-L-Start will give the starting battery some protection in case of converter overcharging, but the selling brochure gives no details about it.
Can't speak for protecting against converter failing at too high of voltage.
Wire does not provide this protection and you will be calling for a jump start. Also Trik-L-Start is automatic and never forgets. Wire is a manual process to connect and disconnect when appropriate. Be sure your wire is large enough to provide full current or has a fuse.
