You just admitted that there are two kinds of "trickle chargers", at least in your mind. Given that, you should specify WHICH kind you are talking about each time you use the term.

No, I admitted that there are more than 2 kinds, and I have no need to stipulate between them for you.
There are also more than 2 kinds of cars, but I rarely ever specify which kind I am talking about. And I won't stop using that term either.
