Where's the cheapest place to purchase a Base Plate for a 2014 Honda CR-V?
Thanks for all comments
your heading says best place, but then you say cheapest. ILL bet you camp at wall marts - Executive45Explorer IIIPersonally, I wouldn't be comfortable either buying or selling a used baseplate for safety reasons. Several years ago, my HHR burned up due to a wiring short in the heated seats. BlueOx indicated the heat from the fire may have damaged/warped or otherwise compromised the safety of the baseplate and wouldn't warranty it at all. They also specify that the warranty is voided if the baseplate is welded on the vehicle....just food for thought...YMMV....Dennis
- olddog49ExplorerJust purchased the baseplate your needing as I also have a 2014 CR-V. Blue Ox baseplate was $395.00. No shipping cost, customer service with Etrailer is great. Arrive within 4 days, from Mo. to NV.
- Big_KatunaExplorer IIPPL RV in Texas discounts 25-30% and will order what you want.
Demco baseplate are usually less $$ than the others and fit well.
I have used Demco and Ready Brute tow bar with built in braking combination on all my Hondas.
Ready Brute costs about the same as many braking systems so you end up saving $1000 as you get a tow bar and braking system for the price of a tow bar and its a great tow bar.
Baseplate $350
Tow Bar with braking $750
magnetic lights $10
Labor= I did it - lanerdExplorer IICraigslist for anything used, then eBay. For new, I've found than Amazon will typically have the lowest price over any of the "rv stores"...physical store or on-line store.
Ron - bshpilotExplorer+1 for craigs list !
I bought my Aventa (aluminum) Towbar & base plates for $400 bucks off of a previous owner who'd gotten rid of his coach.
Got my brake buddy off of craigs list too - it had been used TWICE ! Paid $350 bucks for it w/ the remote & all the bag ! - want-a-beExplorer

Where are you located? I know of a "shop" in Apache Junction, near Mesa Az. that can't be beat. They did the install on my toad for $300 that had been bid for $1,300! Bob
PM me for more info.

PM me for more info. - Teacher_s_PetExplorerIf new etrailer.com, it's not cheap, good customer service and free freight over $100 purchase.
- sch911ExplorerCraigslist if you can find the one you need. Baseplate pricing from hitch or RV places seems to pretty well consistent $$$. I have needed to replace two baseplates due to vehicle changes over the years and each time the old baseplate is scooped up very quickly on Craigslist. Good luck.
