Effy I moved from MD to NC 7 years ago and got a real rude awakening when I went to register my vehicles-----and since I still own my home in MD I left everything registered there......No yearly inspection, no personal property tax EVERY YEAR, emissions every 2 years (none on diesels)and depending on where you are they charge you sales tax on the current value of your vehicle when registering it. Here it is 7.5%. MD may be bad for a lot of things but this isn't one of them. The fuel tax is even less in MD than NC----do your research. SC is a better option.
