Best state to register a Class A RV in?

Well, not much to add to what has been said already. But, you list that you live in Dallas and it is no mistake that one of the largest full-timer groups (Escapees) makes their headquarters in Livingston. You are already in one of the "best" states for registering an RV. Just enjoy.
And as others have stated, most states are on the lookout for motor homes that show indications of "invalid" out of state registration. The biggest trigger are motor homes and toads that don't have the same state tags. This is a dead giveaway that the motor home has been licensed in a "foreign" state. The state of CA even has a website to report out of state registrations. So, it is just not worth fooling around with this stuff.
