Best way to keep the sun's heat from the front away ?

We'd really appreciate any & all suggestions on what is the best way to keep the sun's extreme heat from coming in the windshield & front side windows of our Class A, when it is facing south at a camp...

We had an upholstery shop make us an external windshield cover that attaches with twist locks, not snaps or Velcro. $100 installed including attaching the twist locks..

It really helps when we are facing the sun. We also close the curtains on the front and between the two it is pretty efficient.
