Best way to keep the sun's heat from the front away ?

In the summer, I specifically ask for North facing sites unless there is shade. reflective material, even on the inside, helps too. If you don't believe it, lay your hand on the dash while reflective material is in place and then remove it and repeat the dash test an hour or so later. For the sides, awnings are worth their weight in gold.
