wow, lots in a fuss about nothing. It's simple, if you want it to look nice it will cost you hundreds of dollars and more time to install each time and you'll have to go outside to do most of them. They'll wear with the weather.
We can install ours in 10 minutes without a ladder. ....and what's wrong with having to go outside? :)
As mentioned most outside don't reflect anything, they are just a sun blocker with many letting light in. They reduce the heat coming through the window but also get warm or even hot as they absorb the heat. Remember from simple grade school, dark colors absorb the heat, lighter colors reflect and don't absorb heat like dark colors. So there is still heat transfer to the windshield from the outside in.
So what if the sunscreen fabric absorbs the heat and if we go outside (yikes) and feel it and it's extremely hot, we can go inside and feel our window and that heat is not coming in.
I still would get a dark screen because I enjoy seeing what's outside. Again, if it gets hot on the outside, the heat isn't on the glass inside. At least ours works that way.
There are many ways to satisfy each of us. We're all different...and that's good. Pick one way that works for you! I just stated what works for us. :)
