We cleaned our black tank yesterday. I admire the folks who say you don't need to do it. Maybe if we purchased this coach new that would be the case. However, I fear we purchased this from folks that eat live animals or something.
I dragged a hose into the bathroom. Went out to make sure the tank was closed and then turned on the water. I didn't realize the hose gun was in the "on" position and between turning the water on and getting into the bathroom the hose was spraying all over our non wet throne room.
I find my antics hysterical.
Once we got the excess water toweled up and the tank washed out a couple times we checked the indicator lights to find the "E", "1/2" & "3/4" lights on but not the "1/4" or "F" lights. You gotta love a clear answer.
The more I do this the more I really enjoy having an older rig. Sure, it would be nice to have something shiny and new but seriously as much as we encounter some of the strangest nonsense ever I'm grateful that we can just chalk up the event to "living in an RV" and move on.
Don't clean your tank or do clean your tank. Whichever you chose is fine with me, just make sure the hose gun is "off" before you turn the water on.

P.S. I won't get into the details of Cat's reaction to this whole event but let's just say she wasn't much help until she stopped laughing.
