Make sure to use compatible products if you try to fix it. Not much will stick to the ABS and once you get it gooped up with the wrong stuff, you just made it much harder to fix with the correct material.
You might try gently pushing and prodding the tank. A hairline crack can be very hard to see, particularly in black material in the shade. A little flexing can open up the crack and make it easier to see.
