Black Tank Problem

The "sink" part baffles me.

As for fresh water filling up the black tank, I had this happen once, and I believe I was using the "city fill" inlet with a hose connected to my house, and I think I the pump was also on, and I put the valve control in my wetbay to "Fill Tank".
Somewhere in that combination, bad things happened...and my black tank filled.

I'd check to see what your valves are set to. As mentioned above, the water pump ONLY turns on if there's low pressure on the outlet side of the pump. You should be able to leave the pump on all the time, and it should only come on when you open a faucet or flush.

I have a situation that baffles me. A year ago i replaced the water pump in my unit. Since then, if i forget to turn the water pump off while running down the road, somehow my fresh water winds up filling up my bathroom sink then overflows into my black tank which then overflows creating a disaster. If the pump is turned off, no problem what so ever. The pump seems to work normally.

Yeah, that and the potential disaster if the odd problem left unsolved evolves into a complete failure. Anything to do with water or electric, I am on right away in these things.

I will join in on those asking for a bit more clarification on the whole freshwater filling up the sink and overflowing to the black tank. Could you tell us EXACTLY what you are observing?

I had a plastic toilet in a TT once that was leaking internally into the black tank, not through the bowl so you couldn't see it happening. Just a thought. In that somewhat rare instance, the black could fill completely up to the flush valve which would be closed and in good working order. Since the water would have nowhere to go, it could climb the sink drain if you have one that is plumbed to the black tank.

That is all a lot of speculation on my part to try and make sense of a confusing situation as reported.

On the Monaco coaches, some have the bathroom sink draining in to the black tank in such a manor to help wash away the dreaded pyramid of crap.

In addition to the faucet, which.. The sinks, should not drain into the black tank, they should drain into the gray or wash tanks, ONLY the toilet should drain into the black..

that said, Some Rv's they plumb incorrectly so the sink does drain into the wrong tank.

Still.. the problem is a faucet, if it is the black tank that is filling, I'd suspect the toilet.

Have you actually seen this happen or assuming. Also what do you mean when you say sink overflows into black tank, most sinks are not hooked to the black water tank. What exactly is the created disaster?

Only 2 ways water is getting into your black tank
THE BATHROOM FAUCET or THE TOILET

Problem is not the pump. It is doing what it is designed to do. Pump water on demand. Demand is either an open faucet (shower, sink, toilet etc.) OR a leak. Leak would not go into the waste tank.

Bet you travel with toilet lid closed and therefore don't notice the water running. BUT you should be able to HEAR the pump running cause none of them are that quiet.
