black tank safe wet wipes

We all know that you can't use just any old type of toilet tissue in a black tank. The tissue has to be capable of dissolving so that it doesn't plug the tank when you drain the tank. What about wet wipes? Is there such a thing as a wet wipe that is safe to put in a black tank?
  • Just think about it for a minute...
wet wipes are packed in what?
    Water and soap, right?
Since they do not break down in the container while they are soaking in whatever solution is in there with them, how could anybody think that they will break down when flushed into a holding tank, septic tank, or sewer treatment plant?
Our motorhome had been sitting on the sales lot for about 6 months before we bought it. The first thing I did when I got it home was flush the black tank. I got a half dozen or so wet wipes or baby wipes out of there, and they looked like they were brand new!
The only place used ones go around this house is in the garbage. I won't even drop them into a vault toilet at a Forest Service campground!
  • Simple solution that we have been using for over 10 years. TP goes down toilet and wipes go in a small garbage foot operated pail with a cover that we put a walmart bag in. Every day bag gets discarded. Never had an odor issue, and have yet to run out of walmart bags which you get for free. Why take a chance with a problem black tank issue?
