- RickyrocketExplorerI second Dennis's opinion, most likely an insect nest.
- Executive45Explorer IIIWasps are notorious for building their nests in the vent tube. If your toilet 'burps' your vent is clogged. Could be a birds nest also. You'll have to take your hose up on the roof with you and 'backflush' the vent tube. Use caution on the roof especially if it gets wet. You don't want to fall. The vent tube feeds into the black tank so either watch how much water you send down the pipe or leave your black tank handle pulled. If you leave it closed and fill the black tank it will flow out the toilet into the bath. Another mess you'll have to clean up.....Dennis
- ksg5000Explorer IIClimb on the roof. You will have vent for black water tank and gray water tank. You can remove the caps and run a hose down the tube to clear any clogs.

You have a vent ... all do .. it goes up from the top of the tank inside a interior wall through the roof .. you should see it as a pipe with one of several types of covers. Burping is a full sign or a blocked vent. I wouldn’t trust gauges / indicators as they rarely work properly. Does it blurs all the time ? Even when you just emptied it.

Then you need to make sure it is fully cleared. - sssoooExplorerSometimes when I flush it will burp and splash up on the seat?

i'm guessing you're asking because your toilet is backing up or showing full after just a short time.
if the tank does not have a vent you won't be able to put much into it. air is displaced as water and solids enters the tank. if that air has no where to go either the tank will pop a leak and/or water and solids will not flow into the tank.
if the bottom of the vent tube drops below the level of the water air cannot escape and the tank will pop a leak or backup.
if you have the dreaded black pyramid that will reduce the volume of liquid and solids going into the tank. - Bruce_BrownModeratorIf it doesn't you'll be stinky!
