Blowout

I have had very good luck with Michelin tires on my last two MH's. I would recommend them highly.

I also tow a race car trailer with a DP and run 100lbs in all 6 tires. It was 95+ around here the last couple weeks and I went up to MD (350 mi) and back in the heat of the day with no problem---I have a 32ft Pace tri axel trailer that is really heavy and have towed it over 100,000mi. Those tires aren't that old.

Well I hoped to make it home before buying tires but I blew another one so now I'm getting a new set.... ..... I guess with this trailer they were overloaded....

First thought that came to mind was the 130 psi, that may be the max rating for the tire but I am pretty sure the max pressure for your rims is 120 psi. Next thought was pulling a trailer usually applies a little more squirm (or stress) on the tires, so it may be advisable to go to a higher load rating on the tires. I went from 275/75-22.5 F rated Good Year G670 to 275/80-22,5 H rated Michelin's. The "Bad years" suffered from severe rivering which eventually led to flat spots causing vibration after rotating , balance and alignment as per manufacturers recommendation. Problem persisted and became worse, then the manufacturer declined any knowledge of this issue when I called back (ya right). Any way the new tires ride much and handle much better. Good luck with with what you choose to use but again think about the load you are putting on the tires.

So there was more than just a chance of something being in the road?

Thinking we have more info now and that you could have run over something to cause the "Blow Out"

Will totally change the thought process- information and memory are good things, and make the assessment of the tire failure, as the culprit, a little less likely.

It does say on the tire 131 max psi cold.... Thinking back there was a overturned truck on the right shoulder, I moved over to go around when it blew.... Maybe some shrapnel from that

We have a built-in tire monitoring system. I was driving yesterday about 200 miles to my destination and I keep a close eye on tire pressure and tire temps.

We have Michelins tires, 365's on the steer and tag axle, 315's on the drive axle. The charts recommend 105 on the steers, 90 on the drives and 80 on the tag (If I remember correctly). I like a little cushion so I run 110, 100, 90 respectively.

I have noticed many times on hot days, like yesterday (95 ambient in TN), that at the end of the day, my tire temps are running about 140-145 degrees. I have had these temps over the 27,000 miles that I've watched it. The tire pressures will increase 10+ lbs. per tire. while driving.

It is also my understanding that Michelin is the only manufacturer of the 365 tire. I had two sets of Michelin's on our previous coach and Michelin's now. I have had no trouble except on the new coach, Prevost replaced the two front tires under warranty as I had a slight continued vibration at 60-65 mph, they apparently were 'out of round'. I saw on the invoice that they were priced at $1,008 each. They also gave me a 3 axle alignment, all is good now!
