Get a Blu-Ray player. A DVD player will only play DVD, a Blu-Ray on the other hand plays both DVD & Blu.
If there is a power supply question in this equation. Purchase an inverter & run your system in that way.
I have a 200 watt, modified sine inverter that powers both my TV & Blu-Ray at the same time.
