US 21, down from the BRPwy can be handled without much problem, assuming of course you use the usual care in descending narrow, winding, mountain roads.
And, a bonus awaits if you're interested: NC's Stone Mt State Park is right along the route, just down from the Parkway. It has a modern, absolutely lovely RV park. Stone Mt, itself, is what geolgists call a 'pluton' -- it's a huge, dome-shaped, granite mountain, around the perimeter of which they've installed a very nice walking trail.
