  • Another option is to take Hwy 26 up to John Day. Excellent city park with full hook-ups. I believe it costs about $10 - $15 per night.
  • Sisters has a pretty decent city-owned/operated CG. Prineville has a great Park at the Fairgrounds. Have used both at various times en-route from I 84 at Ontario to the OR coast.
  • Chickahominy Reservoir (along hwy 20, 100 miles East of Bend) would be really close to halfway. If you want a dump station, the rest stop a short distance east of the reservoir has a free RV dump.

  • We go over it at least once a year (hwy 20). Typically, we will stop in Bend and spend the night before heading on over to the coast. There is an Elk club in Bend, but I don't have my Elk rv book with me so I have no idea if they have rv parking facilities. We always stay at Crown Villa.

  • Excellent Elks Lodge in Bend, with 8 RV sites. Burns has several nice parking areas on the west side of town, out by the Hines Mill Pond and Hot Springs. Oregon DOT leaves all their gravel storage areas open and we have overnighted in them several times. Also a very nice rest area about 50-60 miles east of Bend, in Brothers, on the north side of the road.

I-84 to US-20 in Ontario and then head to Eugene. Nice drive and the road is very good. watch your speed from Brothers to Bend, as the SO in that area patrols the road fairly heavy.
