We have installed a FMR on our '08 PW Lexor. It did take a bit of fiddling to get it to work. We had to have the fiberglass fascia below the bumper modified to allow a ball mount into the receiver.
In your case, towing a boat, I'm guessing you'll want to launch it from a ramp. I'd be VERY careful that you don't put the genset in the water if backing down a ramp. But, with a FMR, and the short trip down a ramp, well, maybe that'd be a good idea - and your boat's in front of you.
As far as a load tray, or similar on a FMR, I'd be very careful with the weight on the front axle. In our case, when the PW is loaded for travel - i.e., stuff, fuel, some water, trailer attached, DW in her seat, our kitty cat snoozin', etc., when I go to the scales (which I always do at the beginning of a trip just to be SURE I've loaded it all correctly and within limits), I usually find that I have about 150 lbs. of "spare" capacity on the front axle.
Our front axle is 4,300 lbs. GAW.
And, back to the FMR for a moment. We measured, measured and measured some more. There is no "ready fit" FMR that I could find for our Chevrolet Express based PW. But, I did find a universal fit and it's now mounted. We did have to fish some of the mounting bolts through existing frame openings and then into the holes we drilled. The frame at the front is a box frame. Two bolts we had to grind the heads down a wee bit so they'd fit through existing holes.
But, it's installed, works just fine, and looks "factory".
Cheers.
