If you run a fuel pressure test on you port injected F53, it should read about 40# with the vacuum hose off the pressure regulator. The test port is on the right side fuel rail, just forward of center. It hides under some other stuff. The fuel pump will only run for 3 seconds, every time you turn on the key, or when you have oil pressure.
