OK, let's try this the simple way. First check to see if you have power at the brake controller. If you have power in and out then the controller is good. Just cut the output wire and splice in a new wire that you will run back to the 7 pin plug and hook it up. There is no sense to chasing a broken wire when it is much simpler to run a new one.
