Major no, no, you don't pump them, that action bleeds the air off in the system, apply them smoothly, and constantly, they will last a long time. If you buy an older coach, be certain it has automatic water purging so you do not have to bleed the tanks. The airbrake system often has a air-dryer that must have the filter changed on schedule, but that is a minor thing to do.
