There's no such thing as an air brake endorsement on your driver's license in Texas. If you have a CDL, there could be an air brake restriction, meaning you are not allowed to drive a vehicle with air brakes. But that doesn't apply to the noncommercial class A or B license that's required for driving a vehicle over 26,001 lbs GVWR (class B) or towing greater than 10,000 lbs (class A).
Correct. The Texas license for over 26,000 GVWR is CDL B Exempt. No, not a "true" CDL, but air brake questions ARE on the written exam and most examiners require you to go through an air brake check as part of the driving part of the process. Been there, done that.
