Brand new 2014. What % discount?
In about 45 days this DP will be 2 year models old. It was manufactured in 7/2013. What % off should I offer? No trade, cash deal. Thanks for the advice. Sherry

Sorry, didn't mean to offend, I was simply trying to help. I was referring to this, perhaps I should have said offered - some other posters had wording closer to demand;

In any event, as you can see the number was too low. The point is, it's important to arm yourself with ammunition for the fight. Dealers know what the market will bear and you can too. Armed with a reasonable number and the wheels can be set in motion - pardon the pun. 40% obviously wasn't it and from the advice on this page others suggested going lower. Often it's a better tactic to approach with a number as opposed to a percent. Find out what the lowest 5 dealer's numbers are and counter with that - and let hem know you have 5 dealers with a better number. If you want it. This may have been a whim.
