Mondooker, we have had both.
On our first coach, we chose the legless dinette w/chairs which worked fine. I got a little tired of having so much loose furniture as we also had two recliners of which each had an ottoman. All of that worked well but the person sitting at the dinette facing the rear of the coach had to watch TV through the mirror on the wall.
When we decided to build a new coach, we went with the J-lounge style dinette. If you are sitting in the J-part of the booth, you are looking directly at the TV towards the front. If you sitting at the other part of the booth, the window is at your back and we can both see the TV or visit with people sitting on the sofa's.
We decided on two opposing sofa's vs. having the recliners. Pick what you like best.
