You can pretty much bet the B700 was NOT bought new and converted. Like 99% of school bus conversions, they're converted AFTER a lifetime of use is already wrung out of the chassis hauling kids back and forth.
Also, besides the harsh ride of heavy leaf springs etc., is the lack of basement storage, so water/gray/black tanks take up space under cabinets above the floor. You can also forget about any significant insulation in the walls or roof.
My first bus was a B700. It's livable in Death Valley right now or Green Bay in January. I did mount tanks inside, but there is basement storage.
One more thing (on edit) school buses work about the opposite of a motorhome - they're used all winter and parked in summer. Snow and salted roads, rainy wet, etc. as kids need transportation for 9 months, where a motorhome is parked and not driven that much in snow. (If at all for some motorhomes/bus conversions) Beware of chassis rust.
It can happen, but it's not a major issue. Most bodies (including both of mine) are galvanized.
