My tires are 275/80R 22.5 Michilen. I'm considering buying a used tire to carry as a spare. I know a newer date would be great and the same make tire, but I'm assuming that will be hard to come ...

Some states say tires over 10 years are illegal. So work from that point backwards to how long you expect to have that tire as a spare.
