I think a new unit with high mileage would be preferable to an older unit with low mileage if the dollars were the same. The fuel injected and computer controlled running gear these days seems to last forever but time/weather/sun will take it's toll on the house.
As long as it runs, drives, and shifts ok 100K miles wouldn't bother me as much as 20 years of environmental damage. Plus a lot of the newer jobs have an aluminum house structure.
