I think a new unit with high mileage would be preferable to an older unit with low mileage if the dollars were the same. The fuel injected and computer controlled running gear these days seems to last forever but time/weather/sun will take it's toll on the house.
As long as it runs, drives, and shifts ok 100K miles wouldn't bother me as much as 20 years of environmental damage. Plus a lot of the newer jobs have an aluminum house structure.
Good point, thank you.
Also, to all those who advised me against any water damage, thank you very much. It was eye opening to say the least, quite a bit of strong uniformity on that point so far. With the advice given so far, I am staring to think I might not be such a stickler for type/size of RV anymore. I was pretty dead set on something around 21-24 Class C. But if I see a good one in class A, as long as it is under 28 feet, I will now consider it too. At my price point, it might be best to get the best maintained used coach, as opposed to personal preferences in floor plans/RV type ruling the decision strongly.
