Another SoCal ex-rental owner. SoCal is a tough place to find a decently priced and used RV. Everybody wants one here in SoCal. Blame it on the weather and the wealth of places to experience in this wonderful and majestic state of ours. Forgive my hyperbole as I am currently watching the Ken Burns National Park program and also going to Yosemite this weekend, LOL. It seems most selling are here in sunny SoCal are under water or selling units that are used up. Unlike, perhaps in Florida, where you can get a deal from a snow bird.
I also spent months and months looking at over priced and or used up private seller units in the Los Angeles area then finally decided to take a look at the rental market. Minimally, going to places like El Monte and Cruise America will give you a base line for what is possible when you are ready instead of when you get lucky and that gem falls in your lap one day tomorrow or three years from now.
Good luck! Do spend some time reading that thread IAMICHABOD linked to. It was integral in my purchase decision.
