Cab over bunk ladder?

The two C's we've had didn't come with ladders but we got both used, so who knows. I can say there was no evidence of one, like brackets or worn spots. We carried an aluminum stepladder, of the height corresponding to the bunk. We had to go to Ace Hardware to get a 5-footer. 4-ft and 6-ft are the common smaller sizes. I think most newer C's would do with 4-ft. I thought of customizing a wooden one, eliminating the back legs, carpeting it, etc. But the folding aluminum one, even though short, helped with a few outdoor chores. I could NOT get by with a bunk ladder like the ones with rungs like an extension ladder. We felt we'd reached an age that shouldn't be climbing in/out in the dark. Replaced our 24-ft C with a 31 that has bed down.

Our Winnebago Itasca came with a compact and strong steel ladder for the cabover bunk. The ladder has wide steps on it that don't hurt the feet to use it.

FWIW, our Itasca also came with a full size spare tire and a large lug wrench for the wheel nuts.

What's up with these Class C manufacturers anyway? I wouldn't buy a new Class C without a roof access ladder, a comfortable cabover bunk ladder, a spare tire, and a lug wrench ... all as standard equipment as part of the package, and at no extra charge. :h

Our 2014 Greyhawk came with a very solid ladder that fits into brackets on the edge of the bunk.

No ladder. No spare tire. You would expect both.
I bought a solid 3-step ladder for my sister to get up in the front. The older we get, the solider (sp?) it needs to be.

I found an unfinished bunk bed ladder on Amazon.
It came with the metal "L" brackets.
I finished it to match the wood work and it holds my 220lbs very well.
We just put it up in the bunk when not in use.

I installed a patio door handle on the slide-out trim, made a step pad that slides down on the corner dinette support and then a step stool. Very easy to get up and down while holding the door handle.

Mine came with a homemade (or at least home-adapted) wooden ladder. I haven't generally carried it with me, finding it simpler to hop or vault up from the floor. Shorter or less spry people would probably do differently.

Ours did not come with one. Went to the CW store and bought one.

Supplied metal tube ladders are sometimes "removed" by dealer service personnel. Ours came with one that somehow disappeared before we took delivery, the dealer finally obtained one for us. Supplied ladders usually have small diameter rungs that hurt "mature" feet. A customized half of a wooden step-ladder with carpet padding or collapsible 2-step utility stool may be less painful to use. Stool may also be useful for washing windshield and side windows.

yes to all the above.

The Lazy Daze came with a ladder.
I use the ladder when climbing into the bunk and when use it to access the ladder to the roof (a ladder to a ladder if you will).
I have scrambled up the furniture but the primary users of the bunk, my daughter (24) and nephew (10) prefer climbing.
