Cabinet Repair

Is this space open all the way to the exterior wall? Can you see the area of the refer vent to the roof? If so, think about adding a partition and insulation at the back of the fridge. This makes the venting more stream lined and efficient. See pic.

That's nice they can match the stain. That is very difficult to do if you're trying to build a door yourself.

Done. Called Fleetwood, told them the model online that I found with this door already on it. Matched up the stain and its been ordered.

This is how everything is made. That little panel is cheaper and lighter than hardwood. When you multiply that out over thousands of units it's a few dollar savings and also saves on weight.

I'm guessing it was stapled from the backside and you can't figure out how to hold it while you attach it to the face frame. I don't think a suction cup would hold on the wood grain. I would drill a tiny hole near each end of the panel and thread a fine wire through the front of one side, across the back and out through the front of the other side. Put a few dabs of hot glue in strategic places and hold the wire in your hands and pull the panel towards you while the glue cools. A wax pencil would disguise the holes.

Don't know how much space there is but as most people know that it's usually a closed area so by putting Velcro and putting some type of hinge (from the inside) to get it to swing, you can use it as a hide away like putting laptops, and other value objects hidden behind the panel this could be helpful especially when leaving the TT unattended for any extended time.

Removed the panel at top of the fridge. Decided it would be a good place to store some light weight items. Like the picture already shown. I took a piece of oak and made a door. Used 3 spring loaded hinges to help keep door closed without using a latch.

After reading all of the posts, the one about leaving the space open for additional temporary storage seems logical. You always can use additional storage. If you want just get some matching stain and finish it. That way it will look "factory". Looks like an "opportunity".

I guess my next question would be...

What is the purpose of this void. If it was just a void you think it would be hardwood on the front and not paneling. There is nothing in this area, its empty with a finished back.... what the heck is it for????
