Since you posted about emissions, as long as your vehicle has current registration you will be fine. Diesel motorhomes registered in CA are smog exempt if over 140000 GVW.
Where they are getting the truckers is the requirement of a 2010 engine in any commercial vehicle over 26000 bs. There is a chart based upon the year vehicle as to when this needs to be done. It seems that many new restrictions are impacting out of state trucks driving through the state as well. As far as other issues, be careful about your speed, 55 max when towing and no need to stop at weigh stations.
