Hone eagle, I really don't know about I-shift.... I want an automatic like we have on the Allison. I can certainly change gears from the touch pad but I want the automatic to do it's job.

I shift is an automated manual and there is no clutch pedal or torque converter. It is a manual that is operated by a sort of air shifter controlled by the computer. I have one in my truck and love it and I think Newell have used them in the past though I think it was a zf not a Volvo design. The Volvo design is a 12 speed. For a motor home application I think the Allison would be fine. You can feather it a bit better for getting into a campsite and it being a little less efficient I don't think you would see a difference. I guess the Allison would have less gears but again the amount of weight you'll be pulling with the hp your talking about....I don't see a problem.
