No doubt there are fewer big rig sites in public parks and their availability goes hand in hand with the age of the park since these behemoths were far and few back in the day. Even so most of the public campgrounds always seem to have a few big rigs about. Our towing combo is 55' and we manage to get around without much issue.
Only issue I can see with boondocking in a large rig is just getting there, otherwise most places we've boondocked there has always been plenty of space. Private parks shouldn't pose many problems and there are always many to choose from should some not have availability upon arrival. Never been in a site where 2' either way made a difference.
