It is harder than one would think. We looked a lot in 2013 for an affordable used MH. Really wanted 25-27 ft. but you give up a lot for going short. Finally found a 30 ft. 2003 Itasca that the gentleman had tried to sell for a year or so. He had dropped the price to around $25000, I got it for $23000 and have no regrets. It only had 21000 mi. We've spent a lot repairing and upgrading but still no regrets. I think you've got to go pretty wide with your search and use multiple sources. It's there somewhere if you're a little flexible.
