Holstein13, they don't call the exterior fiberglass, it's called Kelvar. I can't quite explain the difference only that Kelvar is glass smooth, no ripples/dimples like in most regular fiberglass coaches.
Do you mean Kevlar? I've never heard of Kelvar and would think it would violate Kevlar's trademark.
If it is Kevlar, that is a super strong and expensive fiber that is much better than fiberglas, but if it is Kevlar, I would also expect Prevost to brag about that. But all they say is that they are using a fiber composite. I'd love to learn more about this.
Furthermore, since we don't want to believe sales person's B.S., what makes you think that most regular fiberglass would have ripples / dimples in them?
That has certainly not been my experience with even my Fleetwood Storm or any other RV that I can remember (although I haven't examined most of them in detail). In fact, almost all boats are made with fiberglass and they are as smooth as can be. Besides, why would Kevlar be any smoother than fiberglass? Could it be that Prevost sales people like to exaggerate as much as Newmar's?
